Modern Man (An Animated Tribute
to George Carlin)

Director: Robert Lyons
United States, 2013, Animation, 4 min, English, Student Project (University of the Arts, Philadelphia, Pennsylvania)

An animated tribute to one of the world's all-time great comedian philosophers, George Carlin, based on his relentlessly poignant and self-reflective monologue "I'm a Modern Man". This film is a cut-out style animation anijam and was created by students from my animation classes at Philadelphia's University of the Arts from 2009 to 2013. The inspiration for this project began when George Carlin was awarded the Mark Twain Prize for American humor in 2008. He did not live to attend this event in his honor and was the first person to receive this award posthumously. (Created in Philadelphia in the Great Lakes State of Pennsylvania.)
