Director Statement

Sunset Somewhere is a film about that feeling when your 20s are behind you and you’re starting to come to terms with the fact that you probably won’t get to live the dream life you wanted, and learning to accept that and see the beauty in everyday life.

Our film explores this generation’s relationship with success and instant gratification in the social media age as well as identity, addiction, family and friendship, themes that are very relevant to Millennials and Gen Z as we navigate an uncertain and constantly changing world.

As someone who’s been obsessed with the dream of being a successful filmmaker and musician since I was a young kid, this script is very personal to me. Like our main character, I’ve had glimpses of opportunity that have ultimately resulted in disappointment. As I've gotten older I’ve had to recalibrate what success means to me and learn to appreciate and see the beauty in the life I’m currently living, which is so full of worth and value if we really look.
